August is located in a historic 19th century French-Creole building in New Orleans’ Central Business District. The interior at August is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling and antique mirrors. The main dining area caters to the most unique dining experience and is comprised of three breathtaking rooms: the elegant main dining room with its signature crystal chandeliers, the two-story wine room and the intimate Gravier room.
John Besh is a chef and a native son dedicated to the culinary riches of southern Louisiana. In his restaurants, entrepreneurial pursuits, and public activities, he preserves and promotes ingredients, techniques, and heritage one mouth-watering dish at a time.
Restaurant August is a Gayot Top 40 Restaurant and a Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Restaurant, in addition to being nominated in 2012 for the James Beard “Best National Restaurant” award.
